Panama, Cuba, Canada and the United States unbeatable in the U18 World Cup qualifier

(Nota de prensa; WBSC AMERICAS BEISBOL).- El Premundial U18 continuó este domingo y Panamá, Estados Unidos, Cuba y Canadá mantiene sus invictos en este torneo.

(Press Release; WBSC AMERICAS BASEBALL).- The U18 World Cup qualifier continued this Sunday and Panama, the United States, Cuba and Canada remain undefeated in this tournament.

In the morning, the Dominican Republic won its first game of the tournament by dominating Guatemala 11 to 3. Johan De Los Santos stood out by going 2-for-5 with a run scored and three RBIs, while Josuar González went 1-for-2 with one run scored and two RBIs.

The United States remains undefeated by beating Puerto Rico 7-3, Gavin Fied stood out by going 2-for-4 with three RBIs, while Elis Willits went 1-for-2 with three runs scored and one RBI.

Canada remained undefeated by beating Mexico 4-3, Leo Cote was once again one of the highlights of the match by going 1-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs. While Keegan Russel saved the game by pitching 2.1 scoreless innings with two walks and one strikeout.

Cuba also maintained its undefeated record by shutout against El Salvador 20-0. In the knockout victory, Alexei Febles was the protagonist, going 2-for-3 with four runs scored and four RBIs, as well as Raidel Trutie, who went 2-for-2 with three runs scored, three RBIs and three walks, another player who shined was Darián Rojas who went 1 for 2 with two runs scored and three RBIs.

Finally, Panama beat Costa Rica to close the day by 8 to 1 score, a game in which Franklin Hernández stood out by going 1 for 5 with a run scored and RBI, while Jael Escobar went 1 for 3 with two walks and two runs scored.
