XIV National Women's Championship for adults reaches its peak stage in Venezuela

(Press Release; WBSC-AMÉRICAS BASEBALL).- The XIV National Women's Championship is being played in Venezuela, it reaches its last day of the eliminatory stage this Tuesday, with three teams already classified for the Super Round, and one more looking for the remaining spot .

The teams from the States of Lara, La Guaira and Yaracuy have left no doubt about their place in the Super Round, remaining undefeated so far in the tournament.

While Anzoátegui, Distrito Capital and Miranda, risk their lives in the last day of play, the three tied with a 1-2 record, in a tournament where they have suffered their ups and downs.

More than 150 athletes show off their talent in a tournament that will be the breeding ground for the team that is scheduled to play in the final phase of the World Cup in Thunder Bay, Canada, this year.

Venezuela is the third best team in the world, according to the WBSC ranking, in the women's category, only surpassed by Japan and the United States, thus being the second-best team on the American continent.

Lara has won the last two tournaments and is seeking a three-peat, in addition to currently being the holder of the so-called “triple crown” having won the adult, youth and children's women's tournaments last year.

The Super Round of the tournament is scheduled to take place on Wednesday and Thursday with the two best teams in each group and the final would be on Friday, closing the activities of this competition.
