(Press Release; WBSC AMERICAS BASEBALL).- The Venezuelan and United States teams were the ones
that advanced to the Super Round in Japan in the current edition of the
Premier12 tournament, after their victory yesterday.
Venezuela
qualified by defeating the Netherlands 11-0 by knockout in seven innings,
guided by Ehire Adrianza's offense he went 3-for-3 with five RBIs and two home
runs.
Ricardo
Pinto worked five scoreless innings to win with two strikeouts and allowing
just three hits.
Panama
beat Puerto Rico 4 to 3 to close the group with victory, in their first
presentation in the Premier12. Luis Castillo went 1-for-4 with a run scored and
two RBIs.
The
United States sealed its ticket to Tokyo by also knocking out Mexico in
Guadalajara 12 to 2 in seven innings. Ryan Ward went 2-for-4 with two runs
scored and three RBIs and Matt Shaw went 1-for-4 with three RBIs.
Venezuela
and the United States await their rivals from the other group, the qualifiers
they will face in the Super Round that starts in Tokyo next week.
