(Press Release; WBSC AMERICAS BASEBALL).- The
Pan American U10 that takes place in Tamaulipas, Mexico had the teams of
Venezuela, Panama and Mexico as victorious on its first day.
Venezuela beat the Dominican
Republic 11 to 2 in the first game of the tournament, with just four hits, but
taking advantage of the rival's three errors to produce the wide difference.
Oscar Granadinos went
scoreless in three at-bats, but produced three runs and scored another. Mauro
Ordóñez also went hitless in two at bats, but drew two walks and scored two.
For its part, Panama left
Puerto Rico at one run and one hit to beat them 6 to 1 in their debut game of
the tournament and the second that took place on the first day of play.
Thiago De Greacia went 3 for 4
with three RBIs to be the best in Panama's offense, while Víctor Rodríguez took
the victory in relief of 3.1 innings in which he struck out seven.
Finally, the host of the
tournament Mexico knocked out Brazil 17-2 in four innings, supported by an
attack of eighteen hits, but at the same time taking advantage of two errors by
the rival.
For Mexico, Iker Robledo stood
out, going 4-for-4 with two runs scored and six RBIs, while Assael Kebber also
stood out by going 4-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBIs.
