Meanwhile Venezuela took revenge and beat Colombia 7-1 in the last game of the tournament, they both ended with record 3-3, but the host nation had the run differential advantage that won them the silver.
Peru only had one win in six games, but it was against Venezuela, a costly lost for a team who needed that win to take the silver.
Only a KO victory would have earned Venezuela the silver, from the start they had intentions on making it happen, but after three runs in the first three innings, Colombia scored and avoided more runs.

Gabriel Acosta pitched 4.1 innings for the win for Venezuela, only four hits, one run a walk and three strikeouts. He combined with two other relievers to give Venezuela the victory.
José García hit a pair of homers, scored two and drove in four as he hit 2-4. Beicker Mendoza went 1-3 and Fernando Kelli hit 2-2 they each drove in a run in the victory.
Dominican Republic (5-1) takes home the championship, Colombia (3-3) and Venezuela (3-3) step on the podium.
