(Press Release).- With an offensive display of 11 hits, the Puerto Rico National Team defeated Cuba last night by a score of 6 runs to 0, on the third day of actions of the 4th Caribbean Baseball Cup that takes place in Nassau Bahamas.
Puerto Rico (1-1), which achieved an important victory with masses in its qualification to the semifinal, limited the Cubans to a single hit, supported by the great pitching work of José Burgos (1-0), who in 6.1 innings only he allowed a single in the first inning, issued 4 walks and struck out 4 opponents, to get the victory.
Those from Borinquen scored 1 in the fourth, 2 in the fifth, 1 in the seventh and 2 in the ninth, led by Rubén Castro, who batted 5-3 with 2 RBIs and 1 scored, Reynaldo Navarro 5-3 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored and Jeffrey Domínguez is 4-3 with 1 triple and 3 runs scored.

On offense, the only bright spot was Santiago Torres who hit the only single of the game for the Cubans in 2 at-bats.
For today Wednesday 7, Virgin Islands (1-2), who surprised Curaçao, seek to do the same against Puerto Rico (1-1) starting at two (2) in the afternoon and after said match, the hosts Bahamas (1-1), they will seek to surprise Cuba (1-1), starting at seven at night.
This IV Caribbean Baseball Cup is organized by the Caribbean Baseball Confederation "COCABE" and with the Bahamas Baseball Association; and will grant two (2) places to the Central American and Caribbean Games, in El Salvador 2023.
