(Press Release).- The president of the Pan American Baseball Confederation COPABE / WBSC Americas Baseball, Ms. Aracelis Leon, visited the Board of Directors of the Caribbean Baseball Confederation COCABE this morning.
Ms. León was received by the president of Cocabe Engineer George de Lira, Samuel Rodgers president of the Bahamas Baseball Association and vice president of Cocabe, Ramsey Betorina Executive Director, General Secretary Manuel Frías, Technical Director Rodolfo Puente, Luis Daniel del Risco Director of Umpires and Scorers, Carlos Del Pino, Director of Statistics and Margarita Mayeta, representative of the Women's Baseball of the confederation.
In the meeting, important issues for Caribbean and continental baseball were discussed, which will be of great benefit for the development of our Caribbean region.
Topics such as qualifying for all pre-world and Pan American events, the Las Américas Tournament, Champions and Clubs Tournament, Pan American Qualifiers, among others, were the typical topics discussed at said meeting.
For President De Lira and the rest of the Executive Committee, they welcomed all the information presented by President León and the Copabe programming with a view to the development of Baseball in our Caribbean region.
Thanks to the support of President Aracelis Leon and the entire Copabe, one of the dreams of the Cocabe board of directors, to have the Caribbean Cup as a qualifying event for the Central American and Caribbean Games, has come true; which has allowed the great increase in the number of followers of the Caribbean Cup.
With this visit by the president of Copabe, the continental union and the commitment of the Confederations to continue working for the development of their members in their regions continue to be strengthened.
