U12 World Cup qualifier opens with six games and twelve nations in Panama

(Press Release; WBSC AMERICAS BASEBALL) - The U12 World Cup qualifier in Panama starts this Sunday with six games and twelve nations fighting for three spots for the World Cup of the category and accompany Panama, already qualified for the World Cup.

The Technical Congress was held with the presence of the participating teams, to welcome them, set the general rules of the tournament and clarify any doubts or questions that may arise.

The tournament will be inaugurated by Brazil (Raul Jusfredo) and the Dominican Republic (Yoyo Tejeda), the South Americans will be visitors at 9am at the Andy Alonso Stadium. In the same scenario at 11:45am Puerto Rico (Marcos Vasquez) will visit Cuba (Alexandro Martinez) and at 2:30pm the game will be Argentina (Juan Rego) visiting Venezuela (Anthoan Maldonado).

At Rod Carew Stadium three other games will be played, starting at 9:30am with Nicaragua (Jose Jimenez) visiting Mexico (Yadier Chacon), followed by Ecuador (Alejandro Ponce) against the United States (Carson Schoener) at 1pm and then the opening ceremony with the participating countries.

The first day ends with the game that will feature Colombia (Leiner Moreno) visiting Panama (Marcos Moreno) at 7pm at Rod Carew Stadium, the hosts having already qualified as the host of the World Cup qualifier.

More than 200 athletes traveled to Panama with their respective coaches to compete for the dream of being in the World Cup, WBSC Americas is preparing to show a great spectacle, in conjunction with the Panamanian Baseball Federation, in order to continue demonstrating that the sport of America, is played on a diamond.
