(Press Release; WBSC AMERICAS BASEBALL).- The Pan American U10 that is played in Tamaulipas, Mexico reaches the decisive stage of the tournament, after the results of the semifinals, the host Mexico will clash against Venezuela for the trophy, while the Dominican Republic and Panama are playing for the bronze medal.
Friday brought a first early result, Brazil beat Puerto Rico in the game for fifth place by a score of 13 to 10, taking advantage of an eight-run rally in the fourth inning.
Enzo Canali went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and three RBIs, while Jimenes Amador went 2-for-2 with three runs scored and two walks. Vinicius Cardoso also stood out, by going 1-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs.
In the first semifinal, Venezuela needed seven innings to beat Panama 3 to 2 and advance to the final.
For Venezuela, Samuel Vásquez stood out, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while Oscar Granadinos drove in the other. Isaac González secured the victory by pitching 4.1 innings of relief in which he allowed three hits, one earned run and struck out three opponents.
Mexico and the Dominican Republic starred in the other semifinal, a true classic that ended 1-0 in favor of the host of the tournament, which reached the final without defeats throughout the event.
The winning run was driven in by Yadier García who hit 1 for 2, the run was scored by Jesús Nuñez who went 1 for 3. José Ortiz was the winner, pitching 4.1 scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out four. The save went to Assael Kebber, who pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out two.
This Saturday the first game played will be for the bronze medal, Panama hosts the Dominican Republic, at the end of that game, Venezuela will be visiting Mexico for the gold at the Liga Treviño Kelly stadium, Reynosa.
