(Press Release; WBSC AMERICAS BASEBALL).- The
second day of the U15 Pan American Championship ended with four teams remaining
undefeated in the Opening Round.
In the morning games Mexico
and Venezuela remained undefeated by beating South American rivals such as
Argentina and Peru.
The North Americans won
decisively by beating Argentina 20-0. While in a duel between South American
teams, Venezuela beat Peru 12 to 2.
Both teams remain undefeated
in their respective groups after the first two days, while Argentina and Peru
continue to play for their first victory of the tournament.
Also in the morning, Nicaragua
achieved its first victory by KO and no-hitter against the WBSC team, in five
innings they won by a score of 10 to 0.
For its part, Brazil beat
Bahamas 9 to 4 to achieve their first victory to close the morning's activities
on the second day of the tournament.
The afternoon session was competitive
and exciting, but finally Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic managed to pull
out wins.
The Puerto Ricans faced Cuba
and needed extra innings to finally beat them 6 to 5.
In the last game, the hosts
from the Dominican Republic beat Panama 11 to 10, a game that the Central
Americans came to dominate 5 to 0 and then 10 to 5, before being walked of.
On Monday the third day of the
Opening Round will be played, in which the first three in each group look to
advance to the Final Round.
