(Press Release; WBSC AMERICAS BASEBALL).- Eight of the twelve best teams in the world are from
America, as revealed by the most recent official ranking released by the WBSC.
Three
of the best teams are also from America: Mexico maintains second place, the
United States falls to fourth, but Venezuela displaced Korea among the five
best in the world.
The
Netherlands appears seventh, the only team among the top twelve that is not
from Asia or America, from then on, five teams from the American continent
complete the top twelve.
Cuba
maintains eighth place, Panama rises to ninth place, Puerto Rico to tenth and
Colombia is 11th, while the Dominican Republic falls to twelve place in the
ranking.
The
U23 World Cup starts this weekend in China and four teams from America seek to
continue adding points in their rise in the WBSC world ranking.
For
Venezuela, Puerto Rico and Colombia, the opportunity is to continue rising in
the general table, while Nicaragua seeks to sneak into the top twelve teams in
the world.
The
U23 World Cup is, along with the Premier12, the events that add the most points
to the WBSC World ranking remaining in the 2024 calendar, so ascending to the
best possible position is the challenge.
The
Premier12 is scheduled to be held in America and Asia in the month of November
to close the year with the great global event that celebrates its third edition
under this format.
