The XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games, competition for four places at the Pan American Games

(Press Release; WBSC-AMERICAS BASEBALL).- The XXIV edition of the Central American and Caribbean Games will be held in San Salvador from June 24 to July 1, and eight countries will compete for four spots in the Pan American Games in Santiago.

Among the eight participating teams will be Mexico, Venezuela, Cuba and the Dominican Republic, which are in the top 10 of the WBSC ranking, as well as Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, Curaçao and the host El Salvador.

The action will take place at the Saturnino Bengoa stadium in San Salvador, with four daily games starting at 9:30am local time, culminating with the duel at 8pm.

In total, 28 games will be played in the Opening Round in which all the teams will play each other from June 24 to 30, only four of those teams will advance to the Medal Round.

The Medal Round is scheduled for July 1 pitting fourth place against third place for the bronze medal and second place against first place for the gold medal.

Only those who advance to the Medal Round in the Central American and Caribbean Games will have the opportunity to qualify for the Pan American Games in Santiago this year.

For the eight participating nations, it is a great opportunity to secure a spot to the Pan American Games and continue adding points in the WBSC World Ranking.
