The United States and Mexico remain undefeated in the U18 World Cup Qualifier

(Press Release; WBSC AMERICAS).- The U18 World Cup Qualifier continued in Baja California with victories by the United States and Mexico to remain undefeated, Cuba and Venezuela also achieved their first wins.

The United States again made their game a short challenge by knocking out Puerto Rico 15-2 in five innings, putting the game out of reach with six runs in the first inning.

For the United States, PJ Morlando stood out again, who went 1 for 3 with two runs scored and two RBIs, Roman Martin also went 1 for 3 with a run scored and three RBIs, while Noah Franco went 1 for 2 with a run scored and three others knocked in.

Meanwhile, Mexico remained undefeated by beating Nicaragua 13-4. In this case, it was the eight runs scored by the hosts in the fifth inning that sentenced the game.

Carlos Gutiérrez stood out for Mexico by going 3 for 5 with two runs scored and three RBIs, while Ángel Arredondo went 2 for 4 with three runs scored and another three RBIs.

Cuba got its first win of the tournament, after losing on the first day, they were able to beat Panama 6-2 coming from behind. The Panamanians had won in their tournament debut.

For Cuba, Marco Ortega stood out offensively, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Yandro Hernández went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a walk.

Finally, Venezuela beat Canada 3-2 by in a walk of win, after starting winning the game, they were opportune in the last offensive to take the victory.

Anthony Gutiérrez homered and went 2 for 3 with a run scored and two RBIs to be the offensive figure of Venezuela. Luis Meza also stood out when hitting 2 for 3 with a run scored.
