United States, Mexico and Venezuela is America´s podium in the WBSC ranking

(Press Release; WBSC-AMERICAS).- Seven countries of the Americas start 2023 in the top 12 of the WBSC World Ranking and three of them: the United States, Mexico and Venezuela in the first six.

The other four teams from America in the top 12 are Cuba and the Dominican Republic, in addition to Colombia and Panama, these seven countries will participate in the upcoming edition of the World Baseball Classic.

In the case of Colombia and Panama, for the first time they are in the WBSC Top 12 ranking, while Venezuela enjoys its highest position in history, located in the sixth spot.

Asian powerhouses Japan and Chinese Taipei continue to dominate the ranking, with Korea in fourth position, between the United States and Mexico, which are the nations that round out the top 5.

It is key to finish in the top 12 of the WBSC world ranking since that gives the ticket to participate in the Premier12 tournament that is scheduled to carry out its third edition in 2024.

The United States remained dominant during the year 2022 winning the world championships in the U12, U15 and U18 categories respectively, which allows them to climb positions.

Mexico remains in the top 5 seeking to reach Korea, which currently occupies the fourth spot, while keeping Venezuela on the sidelines, which has also climbed positions.

Only the Netherlands from Europe and Australia from Oceania are the only nations outside of the Americas and Asia that have managed to break into the top 12 of the WBSC world ranking by the end of 2022.
