United States does it again U-18 World Cup Champions

(Press Release; WBSC Americas).- United States maintains its overwhelming pace in 2022, winning its third consecutive World Cup, now at home, against Chinese Taipei, in the U18 category.

After beating Venezuela in the final of the U12 World Cup in Chinese Taipei and then dominating Cuba in the U15 category in Mexico, the United States were the best in the U18 tournament as well.

The United States came from behind to take a 5-1 victory as Matthew Dallas, Blake Mitchell and Bryce Eldridge combined to allow just three hits and one unearned run with seven strikeouts and just two walks against Chinese Taipei.

On offense, Bryce Eldridge stood out, hitting 1-2 with two runs scored and three RBIs, in addition to Maxwell Clark who went 3-4, enough to lead the United States to victory.

The United States asserted its quality as host, in Sarasota, Florida they were crowned for the
tenth time in the category,

They had already won in the U12 for the fourth time in the last five attempts and then in the U15 they had also won the championship for the second consecutive year to sweep the last three world championships.

This achievement of victories will allow the United States to climb in the WBSC ranking during this year, heading for the World Baseball Classic tournament to be held in March 2023.
