Cuba, two-time champion of the Baseball5 World Cup, beating Japan in the final

(Press Release; WBSC-AMERICAS BASEBALL).- The countries of America culminated the competition with Cuba defending its crown as champion of the category in a convincing manner.

Cuba dominated the final against Japan, winning in two sets by partial scores 16 to 1 and 7 to 5 to raise their arms in triumph and take the second World Cup in the category to their country, adding to the one they won in Mexico in the first edition.

Briandy Molina and Haila González were voted the Most Valuable Players of the tournament, after the performance that led them to catapult Cuba to the top of the World of Baseball5.

For its part, Venezuela was once again on the verge of the podium, falling in the bronze medal game against France in two sets, partials of 3 to 1 and 7 to 2 gave the Europeans the medal.

Mexico had reached the Super Round, but the Pan American runner-up in the discipline could not get into the Medal Round, saying goodbye to the tournament before the decisive phase.

However, the American teams demonstrated once again that in the Baseball5 discipline they are among the best in the world, with Cuba carrying the flag as the best of all.

The All-Star team of the tournament had members from America, the captain of Venezuela Humberto Molina, along with Yeismy Sánchez from Mexico, stood out among all those present.

Both join the Most Valuable Players, Briandy Molina and Haila González to leave América at the top of the tournament.
