(Press Release; WBSC AMERICAS BASEBALL).- The American teams will star in another great South
American duel in the Baseball final that will be played in Lima, Peru.
Argentina and Brazil are the finalists, while Chile and host Peru will go for
bronze.
Argentina reaches the final undefeated, beating Peru in its last game of the Opening Round by a score of 5 to 1. Jacinto Cipriota batted 1 for 3 with a run score and RBI, while Agustín Tissera went 1 for 3 with a run scored and two RBIs.
Brazil reached the finals by knocking out Chile 10-0 in five innings, Felipe Mizukosi went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI, while Pedro Silva went 2-for-2 with a run scored. The Brazilians only lost to Argentina in the Opening Round by a 2-0 shutout.
The games will be held at the Villa María del Triunfo stadium in Lima, first Peru will be a visitor against Chile seeking the bronze medal, while in the second game Brazil faces Argentina for the gold medal and the championship of the event.
The XIX South American championship seeks to crown a new champion, CONSUBE and WBSC Americas are determined to show that the best baseball is also played in the South of the continent.
The
competition that took place last week also had Ecuador as a participant, who
said goodbye to the tournament due to the tiebreaker rule, since Chile, Peru
and Ecuador all finished the Regular Round with the same record of 1-3.
