History

There is evidence that the first game that was held in Costa Rica was held in the year 1897 in Puerto Limón, dedicated to the then President of this country Rafael Iglesias Castro, between a team from Josefino and another from Limon. It is reported that thanks to the construction of the railway and the foreign transnationals that exploited bananas, this sport was able to develop in our country. They arrived with their game supplies and began to practice until teams were formed to compete.
