(Press Release; WBSC-AMÉRICAS BASEBALL).- Panama will host thirteen other countries that will participate in the Pan American U18 tournament, a qualifier for the World Cup of the category that starts on August 2.

Fourteen teams will be competing for three spots to be in the World Cup and accompany Panama, as the representatives of America in one of the most even categories that this sport has.

Panama will participate in the tournament, but it has already qualified for the World Cup in the category by hosting the qualifier tournament, so the other thirteen participating countries will be competing for those three available spots.

Group A is made up of Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Canada, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala. While in Group B the participants are United States, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Curacao, Costa Rica and the host Panama.

The action begins on August 2 at the Rod Carew stadium at 10am (local time) Brazil will be visitor against Venezuela, while, at the same time, but at the Juan Arosemena stadium Nicaragua visits Cuba.

At 1pm the third game of the day is scheduled at the stadium in Juan Salinas, with El Salvador visiting Mexico.

At 2pm, Canada will visit the Dominican Republic at the Rod Carew, while, at the same time, but at the Juan Arosemena, Curacao will be facing the United States.

The action closes at 8pm when host Panama faces Puerto Rico at home, this game will be after the Opening Ceremony.

Guatemala will have its first game of the tournament on August 3 as host against Mexico at 10am at the Juan Arosemena stadium, while Costa Rica debuts that same day, in the same stadium at 2:30pm as host against the United States.

More than 200 players will be competing in one of the most even categories in the sport, looking for one of those three sought-after passes to the World Cup in the category and continue adding points to the WBSC ranking.
