United States and Mexico unbeatable and Venezuela sneaks into third place

(Press Release; WBSC-AMERICAS BASEBALL).- The United States and Mexico national teams remain unbeatable in the U12 World Cup qualifier in Aguascalientes after the results of Tuesday's games.

Meanwhile, Venezuela's victory allows them to remain alone in third place, while four other teams fight with a 2-3 record to advance to the Medal Round, with Brazil still looking for their first victory of the tournament.

The Venezuelan national team came from behind and beat the Dominican Republic 12-10, a game they ended up coming back with four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.

The young Francys Sandoval excelled for Venezuela by pitching 5.1 innings allowing seven hits, five runs (four earned) with one walk and six strikeouts to win in a spectacular relief appearance.

Offensively, Alexandro Ladera stood out by going 4-4 with three RBIs and three RBIs, while Willy Rodríguez went 3-3 with three runs scored and four RBIs.

For its part, Cuba left Brazil in two hits and shut them out 8-0 to stay in the race for the World Cup and the medals.

David Hanser pitched 4.2 shutout innings allowing just one hit, one walk and six strikeouts, while Yoenys Puertas finished the job by pitching 1.1 innings of one hit and one strikeout.

The United States once again displayed its powerful offense to beat Panama 18-8 and remain undefeated in the tournament. Zaylon Johnson went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBIs, while Leyland Henry went 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs, Tyler Early also went 4-for-4 with four runs scored and two RBIs.

Finally, Mexico defeated Puerto Rico 8-6 to also remain undefeated and lead the table along with the United States. Gustavo Meza went 2-for-3 with runs scored and two RBIs, while Santiago García went 1-for-3 with three RBIs to be the offensive highlights for the local.
