Puerto Rico confirms participation in the Caribbean Baseball Cup

(Press Release).- When we enter the final stretch towards the 4th Caribbean Baseball Cup, many fans and specialists begin to make predictions about the favorite teams to win the tournament organized by COCABE. Undoubtedly, the newcomer Puerto Rico appears among the candidates of many.

And it is that recently, the Federation of the Isla del Encanto confirmed its presence for the first time in the contest, in search of reaching one of the two tickets in dispute to the Central American and Caribbean games San Salvador 2023.

Former major leaguer Juan "Igor" González named manager of the group, has already summoned a wide pre-selection of players who play in the double A class championship of its country, some of them with MLB experience.

Thus, from December 4 to 11 in the Bahamas, Puerto Rico will measure forces with Haiti, the US Virgin Islands, Curaçao, Cuba and the host country. In the last Olympic cycle, precisely the Puerto Ricans won the baseball title of the Centrocaribes Barranquilla 2018.
